The sharing and consumption of pies are always good conversation starters. Pies have always been the catalyst for guys to become blood brothers, fishing, bowling, and golfing buddies. As for donuts, not such much. There is no sharing of donuts, it’s each man for himself. I discovered that when I was feeling generous and brought a box of a dozen donuts into work. I miscounted the guys in our office. There were 12 donuts (3 of them were the chocolate covered cream filled kind) and 14 guys in the office. Thus, began the great war, blood was spilled, it was a massacre! Brotherhood was dissolved. After that time of upheaval, I would have my coffee and donuts secretly while sitting in my car on the parking lot of work. I still have night sweats thinking about it from time to time!
