“The red states held by the Republicans are deeply entrenched in carbon-based energy systems like coal and oil” They are losing the battle and war as the world demands for fossil fuels decline. They are also facing changing demographics as the nation’s population of people of color increases. Non-whites do trend toward Democrats and are more tolerant of change and diversity.
