Thanks for your thoughts on this. I’m not saying that the Gillette message is unimportant, but I don’t think a nearly 2 minute Ad is effective in bringing up toxic masculinity because of the length of the Ad. Most people are annoyed with Ads, to begin with, and TV audiences prefer no Ads, or if there must be Ads, they don’t mind as much shorter Ads. The longer the Ad is, the more people lose interest, and the message it wants to portray gets lost in audience annoyance. An example of a good Ad would be funny and short Ads like the Geico Ads. I think toxic masculinity is a problem that can be better brought up as a discussion on a news program where more time is allowed for differing views or solutions. I was not implying that it was not important and if I gave that impression, I apologize. I honestly believe that more can be accomplished on a news show segment. I want to thank you for asking for my opinion.
