My wife and I are retired and I noticed the amazing speed of “Ocular Degeneration” that seems to afflict young people whenever they encounter people who have white or graying hair, bald or receding hairlines, wrinkled skin, a slow walking gait, the use of canes, and the big one, “I didn’t hear you. Can you repeat that?” When I was a young lad, I thought that having the power of invisibility would be so awesome. Now at this point in my life, not so much. I once got up and confronted a waitress who ignored my wife and I for about 30 minutes. She answered that she wanted to give us more time to read the menu and decide on what to order. I then told her her that we didn’t have a reading problem, we are not mentally challenged and we know what we want; we want to leave due to your poor service and inattention. We left and never gone there again. People our age have tendency to be ignored or regarded as “Old farts who don’t give a sh*t about what people think” My wife and I decided to exercise our right to be “Old Farts” to that waitress! Thanks for a good read, Linda!
