If I use your clap list, then the safest amount of claps I can give is 1. Clapping only once will inform the writer of a story that I (as you stated) acknowledge the writer’s existence, but not informing either a positive feeling nor a negative feeling about the writer’s story. Soon we will all fear each other's clap count. I now fear to clap at all! : ) : )
