I totally relate to your story. I am Chinese and an American. I did not follow my parent’s religion of ancestral worship and Taoism. I am a follower of Nichiren Shosu Buddhism and a member of the Soka Gakkai of America which is a Japanese and not Chinese Buddhist religion. My worst offense to my parents was my rejection of their arranged meetings (dates) with women that they chose as potential wives for me. I married a woman that I fell in love with and met on my on. After my kids were born, My wife and I were (according to my Mom) accepted back into the family. Anyway, I loved and enjoyed your story, Jun Wu! Happy Chinese New Year!
