I totally agree with you on this. It creates low employee morale and if it’s done that way all the time, it can deter people from applying to work for them. A person who is fired via text has friends and other relationships that can be informed of how he is fired. A negative image of a company can be quickly formed and spread by word of mouth or through social media. It is a cowardly way to terminate an employee. Unfortunately, even a President (the name I won’t mention) has done it: firing Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin and replacing him with the White House doctor Ronny Jackson. (March 28) with a Tweet. I hope it will not become a trend. Good story and read, Athirah!
