Here in the States, it seems that a large portion of the population gets its news from pseudo-celebrities reading off the news in a format called infotainment. Infotainment is snippets of news intermixed with gossip, innuendo, half-truths, and opinions from social influencers that are disguised as hard-hitting journalism. These types of modern journalism are popular because it brings in the eyeballs across the desired demographics to increase tv ratings. It all seemed like a good idea until the people of the U.S. elected a fool like Donald Trump as President. Robert Murdoch’s Fox News is a major culprit in destroying civility, truth and the better angels of society.
