Being Polite
It couldn’t hurt
“Oh great, another hitchhiker!” I thought as I saw the hand waving by the side of the road. I was driving back home from visiting an old friend of mine in another town and the sun was headed toward dusk. Then I recalled this morning’s breakfast conversation with my wife who exclaimed that we should practice on being more polite. She related to me about an article that she read that states; when people are in the autumn of their years, they tend to be impatient and rude. We shouldn’t be that way and that we must try to be polite at all times.
Well, I am being polite, I’m so polite that I have three other hitchhikers sitting in the back as I pulled the car over to the side of the road. As I waited for the current hitchhiker to walk to the car, I saw that he was at least wearing a suit. A guy wearing a suit wouldn’t have any bad intentions and I should be safe. Right?
When he got in and sat in the passenger seat of the car, I saw that he must have the same skin condition on his face that the three guys sitting in the back had. Their faces were covered in some kind of facial skin cream. They all said they were headed toward the town that I live in. I took a picture of the guy with my phone just before he got into the car because you know, just in case. Anyhow, I know you are curious about what he looks like, here is his picture:
I’m guessing that there must be a Dermatology specialist in my town and these guys are headed there to see him or her in the morning. But I’m won’t ask these guys because I going to be polite and mind my own business!
