An Open Letter To Medium, Writers, and Readers

I started writing on Medium back in May of this year. I was forced into retirement from my day job because of a medical condition but I was getting bored and the retirement money was not quite as sufficient as one would hope. I came across the Medium platform and lurked around reading the stories and I decided to start posting stories. My main purpose was to keep from getting bored with nothing to do and to make a little income. What I found was more rewarding than anything that I can imagine.

I had somehow acquired a small following of readers, some of whom are also Medium writers. A large majority of them have become friends who I, in turn, became their followers. I greatly appreciate the friendship, encouragement, writing tips, and most of all; the opportunity to read their stories. I want to Thank all my writer friends for helping me grow and improve my writing. I hope that you all will continue to do so.

To all my non-writing readers, Thank you all also for all your responses, they encourage me and keep me on my toes. Your responses give me future story ideas and at times educate me in clarifying and improving my stories for you. I look forward to reading more in the future. I want to Thank the trolls also because they also teach me some worthwhile lessons.

Lastly, I am grateful to this Medium platform and Publishing Partners like “One Minute Wit” for making it possible for the average everyman to be able to write a story and publish it. This platform is the easiest place to write for and the name of Medium is a very appropriate name as a place for people to start their writing career.

I look forward to 2019, in writing more better stories and earning your claps, friendship, and responses. I am very grateful to you all!
